The local community park is a short walk down the "moose trail" through the forest (or less than 1/4 mile by car). Here you will find a playground, picnic areas, volleyball net, horseshoe pit, beach, swimming area, dock and boat ramp. There are also two other community parks on the lake which you are welcome to use during your stay at the Moose House. |
| If you like water sports, lake Cushman has it all - swimming, skiing, sailing, jet skiing and canoeing. There's over 22 miles of shoreline with incredibly clean and clear water. For the angler, there's a variety of fish in the lake from land-locked King Salmon, to Kokanee, Cutthroat, Rainbow and Dolly Vardon trout. If you don't have your own water toys or boat, Lake Cushman Resort - a few miles down the road - will rent them to you. |

Camp Cushman and Recreation Area is less than 1/4 mile from the Moose House. There are over 7 miles of hiking trails within the park, as well as hundreds of miles of trails accessible in nearby Olympic National Park and Forest. The southern "Staircase Entrance" to Olympic National Park is 9 miles up the road past the end of the lake. There are many beautiful drives in the lake area, including a drive half way up Mt. Ellinor where you can enjoy spectacular views. There's also cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter months. |
| Four miles down the road towards Hoodsport, you'll find the local nine hole golf course. The green fees are modest here and you'll also find tennis and badminton courts available. |
